Winter has finally arrived with lots of snow and cold temperatures. Many birds at my feeders. Red-bellied woodpecker. hairy and downy woodpeckers, goldfinch, red polls, cardinals, nuthatch, chicadees, titmouse, blue jays, starlings, and one day about 10 evening grosbeaks showed up. I needed to replenish my bird seed supply.

Oh, yes, I have the gray and the red squirrels, too. A few crows drop in occasionally. Probably more often than I realize.

The Town Office and the transfer station will both be closed on Jan. 21 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. day.

Winterport Historical Association will meet Jan. 14, at the Victoria Grant Civic Center at 6:30 p.m. with a potluck.. Reta Hunter, retired school teacher, will present the program, titled "Holbrook Island."
