Frankfort Congregational visits Chase's

On Oct. 7, members of the Frankfort Congregational Church piled into their vehicles and headed up to Chase's Family Restaurant in Hermon for their annual luncheon. Twenty-four people attended, including four residents of Frankfort Assisted Living Facility, where the church holds a weekly worship service.

Hunters' Breakfast

A hunters breakfast will be held on Saturdays, Oct. 20 and 27, from 5:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Winterport Snowmobile Club. Oct. 20 will be Junior Appreciation Day; therefore, junior hunters eat breakfast for free. Adult meals are $6.

From the Town Office

Waldo County Triad has placed a box in the Town Office for donations of clean, warm items such as coats, blankets, snow pants, gloves, mittens, hats, scarves, etc. Donations will be given to those in need throughout the surrounding communities.

The search for a new town manager is still underway. The Town Council has narrowed it down to a few candidates and they will be conducting interviews in two weeks.

Absentee ballots for the Nov. 6 general and referendum election are now available at the Town Office. Registered voters of the town of Winterport can come in anytime between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to pick up theirs.

Streamside changes weekly scrambles

Streamside Golf Course, located at 551 Stream Road, Winterport, has moved its weekly golf scrambles to Saturday afternoons at 3 p.m. All golfers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.
