Boy Scouts

Starting Feb. 1, the Boy Scouts of America will start signing girls up for BSA Girl Troops. Scout leader Dale Rowley is hoping to restart Troop 234 as a Girl Troop. However, girls ranging from age 11 to 17 are needed for participation. Rowley's hope is Troop 34 in Frankfort, which has been taking in our Cub Scout Boy Webelos when they cross over, will be able to participate in many activities with Winterport's Girl Troop.

Ellingwood's Corner Community Fellowship Days

Elllingwood's Corner United Methodist Church announces the first of three winter Community Fellowship Days on the second Saturday of January, February and March. Warm your hearts visiting with friends, neighbors, and church members. Warm your bodies with purchases from their Thrift Shop and a luncheon by voluntary donation. Board games and puzzles will be available for entertainment. Saturday, Jan. 12, 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Lunch served at 11 a.m. All ages are welcome. Located at 796 Lebanon Road in Winterport.

Skating rink update

December proved to be too much of an inconsistent month as far as the temperatures were concerned for freezing the skating rink located at Abbott Park. Recreation Department Director Greg DaSilva will alert residents once the rink is ready for skating.
