Women stay in swing of things at Country View

Weekly scramble event starts cool, but play proves hot as weather

Brooks — The following is news from the Country View Golf Club:

On Thursday July 23, the weekly women's league morning play started cool, but the golf proved hot. First-place honors went to Carol Counter, Joette Fields, Sarah McParland and Donna Short as the team combined to shoot 4-under par 32. Second went to Susan Hart, Jean Raven and Fran White at 3-under 33.

The pin winners were: Jean Raven on the fourth hole and Joette Fields on the ninth.

The women's league tees off at 9 a.m. on Thursdays. All are welcome.
