Forester Morten Moesswilde speaks to a group of youngsters in a local woodland.

Belfast Free Library, 106 High St. Join Forester Morten Moesswilde for a look at the diverse forests of Waldo County, which sit at a geographical crossroads and contain northern and southern species. Glacial, marine and other soils add a further element of diversity. Learn how local forests have evolved, from the days before European settlement to now, and how they have grown and re-grown after clearing, timber harvesting, and in response to myriad other influences. Moesswilde will delve into how the woodlots of today offer evidence of events long past and more recent. His knowledge will change the way you see the woods next time you hike through them.
