Youth to explore careers in health care

Bangor — Northern Light Health and Eastern Maine Community College are collaborating to allow high schoolers to test drive a career in health care at the Adventures in Healthcare camp, located at EMCC, 354 Hogan Road, Bangor, from June 24 through 27.

Campers will explore a variety of health care careers through hands-on activities and tribe challenges, seeing and using the tools professionals use. They will be introduced to health care professions, including, but not limited to, radiographer; speech pathologist; occupational therapist; physical therapist; registered nurse; respiratory therapist; biomedical technician; emergency medical technician; sports medicine specialist; physician; physician assistant and social worker.

The cost for the camp is $275 if paid in full by May 1 and $300 if paid after May 1. Within 10 days of acceptance into the program, a $50 nonrefundable deposit is required. For more information or to sign up call 974-4796 or visit emcc.edu (search term: adventures in healthcare).
