I must apologize for a mistake I made on Tucker Boynton's Road To Recovery. It will be held at the Bucksport High School this Friday night 5 p.m. Pretty sure that most people will know the difference — sure hope it will have a good turnout.

    Searsmont news

When you live in a place as beautiful as Searsmont, one of the puzzles of taking a summer vacation is “why leave such a glorious place?” The weather is good. Mosquitoes and black flies are getting slower. Taking a planned trip to Canada, we will miss the accelerating production of garden greens and the first broccoli. There really is no time other than mud season when it feels good to leave.

    Monroe news

Make hay while the sun shines — and that’s what we’ve been up to lately. The middle of June handed us our first stretch of good weather to get around 1,300 square bales off the fields in front of our house. Thankful for functioning equipment, relatives willing to lend a hand driving tractor and trucks and local muscle to help stack and unload trailers.

    Jackson news

What stellar, beautiful early summer days we’ve been having, though I’m struggling with the pollen — something I don’t usually have an issue with. It seems more intense than ever, my laptop screen gets coated after just a few minutes of writing on the deck, and I need to rinse my contacts after walking the dogs!

    Unity news

I felt well enough to go to Wiscasset Speedway on June 11. It was nice to see some old friends and listen to the sound of big motors. Unfortunately our LMS got caught up in a wreck, along with Frankie Moulton, and ended their day prematurely. The guys are out in the shop doing some damage repair. My car broke down on Election Day, but the race car takes precedence. It was great to see Dave "Boss Hog'' St. Clair still wheeling a car at age 74; he not only wheels it, he's a contender!
