    Annual Scout breakfast to recognize performance in food drive

    In celebration of 100 years of Scouting and in recognition of the start of National Scout Week, the Waldo Scout District is conducting a community food drive that will finish at the annual Scout breakfast Saturday, Jan. 30.     Eighth-grade bottle drive rescheduled

    The Lincolnville eighth-grade regrets that, due to the persistent snowfall over the New Year's weekend, its bottle collectors were unable to cover their assigned routes. The eighth grade will, by circulating through the town, collectbottles on the weekend of Jan. 23 and 24. Bottles should be bagged and put out on the curb no later than 9 a.m. for pickup.

    Community meal to benefit Triplet Park

    Just over 10 years ago, on Jan. 12, 2000, a house fire on Wood Lane in Unity destroyed a home, trapping three young boys — triplets — inside.
