There will be an Informational meeting regarding solar farms in the town of Morrill on Thursday, July 14, at 6 p.m. at the Community Center. Get together on the same night at 5 p.m. for a potluck. Bring a dish and come visit with friends and neighbors.

Community Market is the second and fourth Saturdays of the month from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Morrill Community Building (Morrill Grange Hall). They have food vendors, baked goods, art soap, natural remedies, local produce and meats.

On Saturday, May 14, Lee Pelliechia, Sara Kelemen and Tom Fish all finished the basic fire course. The course was held over two months of Tuesday night classroom instruction and five Saturdays of hands-on training. On the 14th they completed the course by completing many evolutions of attacking and putting out live burns at the Waldo County Fire Association's training building.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the families of their loved ones who have passed away, Laurie Vose Donnell on April 24, Sonja Merry Ward who passed away May 7, Royce Tibbets on May 18 and Betty Littlefield on May 7. Our thoughts and prayers got out to all these families and we all are so very sorry for your losses.

Profile this week is of Auxiliary member and Morrill resident Joan Mills. Joan is now and has been the treasurer of the Auxiliary for many years. Joan is the mother of three grown children whom she loves to visit or have visit. Joan's late husband Charlie was a longtime member of the Fire Department who once did a one-year stint as chief.
