Rabid raccoon found in Palermo

A Palermo resident contacted the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention after their dog encountered a raccoon. The state testing lab in Augusta confirmed the raccoon was rabid. The dog received a rabies booster and is on observation for the next 45 days.
