Temperatures are dipping and stove wood needs to be brought inside, even with snow banking the house. After roads are plowed, the letterbox needs clearing and emptying so Mike and Patrick can bring you mail. Take a minute to make sure your neighbors are all right and able to get out of their doors and driveways. And it’s time to register dogs. Contessa in the Town Office tells us that nearly 250 of Searsmont’s 430 dogs are not yet registered for 2022. Avoid a $25 late fee, added onto the normal charge of $6 ($11 if your canine companion is not spayed or neutered) by doing this before Feb. 1.
