    The library will host a Story Hour for children of all ages on the first Saturday of each month starting Saturday, Dec. 3, from 10 to 11 a.m. The program will continue at the same time on the first Saturday of each month after that. In addition to the story, there will be snacks and an activity. For more information, visit stocktonspringslibrary.org.

    Please visit the Anne Spencer art exhibit at Stockton Springs Community Library and think about buying a painting for a Christmas present for someone or yourself. Anne was very active in the library and town for many years.

    Sandy Point Community Club held its annual meeting Aug. 24 and about 30 people attended. The club needs about $4,500 each year to continue operating in its current condition.

    Veterans Day is Friday, Nov. 11 and there is usually a ceremony in Veterans Park in Stockton Springs. The Town Office will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 24, for Thanksgiving.

    The culvert work is done on Main Street and the new guardrail is up. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8, and the polls are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the lower level of the Town Office.

    On Monday, Oct. 17, the old Town Hall building on Main Street burned, displacing its tenants. No one was injured in this fire but all their possessions were lost, which is so sad. The Community Builders are hosting a benefit dinner on Sunday, Oct. 30, at the Town Hall lower level from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

    The Maine Department of Transportation expects to replace the small culvert between the Town Office and the post office from Tuesday, Oct. 18, through Saturday, Oct. 22. There will be a detour around the road closure in that area.

    Bingo night is coming up on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 5:30 p.m. at the lower level of Town Hall, so come on out for a fun night with prizes. Halloween activities are scheduled for Monday, Oct. 31, which will be here before we know it.
