I celebrated my "double nickel" birthday by spending the day on the sofa. I had over-committed myself on Saturday and Sunday and paid the price. My wonderful husband took the day off and got me a card and ran to the Depot Store bright and early to get some trash stickers. I'm a simple girl; I don't require too much to make me happy.

This Veteran's Day was spectacular! My older brother, Matthew (an eight-year USMC veteran), and his wife Lucia spent a good portion of their day in service to the community. They cut low-hanging branches and cleared brush at Pond Cemetery.

Definitely frost on the pumpkins this morning! My husband smashed the pumpkins that grew out of our brush pile under the crab apple tree; the deer have been having a wonderful feast.
